So the next morning I started to make a lot of phone calls to try and find the people that were doing this wonderful thing with horses. It wasn't until around noon that I finally had a phone number to Don and Janet Burleson. They are the people that had trained a horse to guide the blind. They also started the Guide Horse Foundation.

When I was finally able to reach the Burleson's, Janet explained to me that, at the time she did not have a horse to train. She told me that as soon as they did get one that she would call me and let me know.

Well I have to admit when I hung the phone I felt like something so awesome as a guide horse would never be in my life. Then I began to think, "What if it did happen"!! Wouldn't that be just the greatest thing in the world. To own not only the horse I have always wanted, but that it could be my eyes as well.

Well a few months had gone by and one day the phone rang. It was Don Burleson. Don Said, "Dan, I have some good news for you".
